Bioethics Committee Holds First Meeting of 2023

Muscat: The National Bioethics Committee today held its first meeting of the year (2023) under the chairmanship of HH Sayyid Dr. Fahd bin Al Julanda Al Said, Vice Chancellor of Sultan Qaboos University, Chairman of the Committee.

The panel discussed a number of topics, including a proposal to organize training in the field of communication skills for medical and paramedical staff.

The committee also studied a proposal to host the forthcoming meeting of the Middle East Regional Office of National Bioethics Committees on 14 and 15 June 2023.

The meeting is scheduled to be held in cooperation with the World Health Organization, the UNESCO and the Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean Region.

The committee also discussed preparations for an intellectual forum and a 3rd international conference on similar issues. The meeting was attended by Sheikh Dr. Kahlan bin Nabhan Al Kharousi, Deputy Chairman of the Committee.
