Muscat: Facebook, Instagram and Threads are experience down with thousands of users in Oman and across the globe reporting issues with the platforms in the past hour, locking users out of their accounts even with the correct credentials to login the users are failing to load properly.
The problems appeared to have started at around 5pm today, according to outage tracking website Down Detector.
Instagram and Facebook all two affected sites are owned by Meta, which also operates WhatsApp – though that appears to be working fine.
On (X) former know as Twitter , people are reporting that both platforms aren’t loading. Instagram is showing users an error message that reads “couldn’t load posts,” while Facebook says “session logged out.”
Meta is yet to issue a statement on the situation, which appears to be hitting users around the world.
