Breaking: Oman announces reopening of airports

Muscat: Supreme Committee in charge of discussing mechanisms for dealing with developments resulting from the spread of the Coronavirus held a new meeting Today, Monday, September 7, 2020, chaired by His Excellency Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi, Minister of Interior – Chairman of the Committee -.

After its meeting, the committee issued the 2 following statement:

The Supreme Committee decides to allow airpots to open starting from October 1st, 2020, as the date for opening airports for International flights.

In a statement issues online: The Supreme Committee studied the issue of opening air traffic for international flights and decided the date of October 1, 2020 as a date for that, provided that these flights are scheduled according to health data for specific destinations and according to bilateral agreements with other airlines.

It is worth noting that the Supreme Committee has issued, since its inception, by high orders on the date of last March 10, a set of data that included decisions on dealing with developments resulting from the spread of the Corona virus.

The Supreme Committee blessed the general framework prepared by the Ministry of Education to operate schools in the Sultanate during the academic year 2020/2021 AD in light of the continuing Corona pandemic (Covid-19), which includes executive procedures and development of work mechanisms, plans and documents, in order to ensure the quality and comprehensiveness of education for all students in the Sultanate, regardless of the variance.

In their different circumstances, based on presenting the students’ interest and health considerations, the Supreme Committee will continue to evaluate health data related to the educational process in the Sultanate’s schools, and will take appropriate decisions according to these data.
