CAA clarifies on fire in Air India Express Flight at Muscat

Muscat: The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) issued a clarification statement after fire catches in the Indian Express aircraft on Wednesday. 

In a statement CAA said: Further to Clarification Statement No (1), the Civil Aviation Authority, in coordination with Oman Airports Company, would like to clarify the details of the incident as follows: 

The accident happened at 11:33 this morning in the Indian Express Aircraft (flight number IX442), which was planned to take off from Muscat International Airport to Delhi Airport in India, Before the aircraft taken off, the aircraft was hit by a failure and a fire in one of its engines, which required an immediate evacuation of passengers. Some light injuries result in passengers during this accident. 

The Civil Aviation Authority and the concerns authorities are currently following up on the developments of the accident through the work of the Emergency Operations Center at Muscat International Airport.
