Muscat: Parts of the Sultanate of Oman to witness heavy rains, alerted Oman Meteorology on Wednesday, 26 July, 2023.
In its weather forecast said, rainfalls ranging between (1—35) mm downdraft wind (15-45) knots port horizontal visibility due to dust rising during thundershowers flash floods (wadis)
The Affected areas are: Al Hajar Mountain, North Al Sharqiyah and South Al Sharqiyah, South Al Batinah, Al Dakhyliah, Al Dhahira extend to the desert of (Al Dakhyliah, Al Dhahira, Dhofar and Al Wusta)
Oman Meteorology also said, The areas likely to be affected by the active downward winds throughout the Hajar Mountains and are concentrated in the mountainous areas of the governorates of North Sharqiyah and Al Dakhiliyah and parts of Al Dhahirah and Al Dakhiliyah deserts as inferred by the Omani numerical model.

To ensure safety:
Immediately move away from low places and wadis, and do not attempt to swim in wadis
Do not risk crossing wadis in order to protect yourself and those with you in the vehicle
Keep an eye on children and never allow them to approach wadis
