Muscat: Camping permits will not be granted in the Khareef season this year in order to keep the sites free for development, Dhofar Municipality announced.
The municipality said in a statement: “Dhofar Municipality has followed with great interest the community’s voice on social media platforms about camping during the Khareef season. The municipality clarifies that it is in the process of developing two camping sites which will be operational through the year with distinctive designs. It will equip the two sites with recreational facilities, camping umbrellas, road paths and car parks in front of each camping unit.”
“Camping will not be permitted in this Khareef season for 2022. The date for the start of construction work at one of the sites will be announced soon, and after the evaluation of the first site through the opinion of the community, the second site will be prepared.”
