Child Protection awareness program in Wilayat of Mirbat

Mirbat: The Ministry of Social Development and the Omani Human Rights Committee, in partnership with Omani Women’s Associations in the Wilayat of Mirbat, carried out an educational seminar on “Child Protection,” as part of a series of lectures and seminars covering all governorates of the Sultanate of Oman.

The symposium aimed to introduce the legal and regulatory frameworks for child protection, and to know the procedures followed to report this through the means available in the Ministry of Social Development and other concerned parties, and to introduce the efforts of the Omani Human Rights Committee.

The symposium touched on a number of axes, including introducing the Omani Human Rights Committee, presenting monitoring mechanisms, receiving communications and the efforts of the Omani Human Rights Committee in the field of awareness and education, in addition to presenting educational video clips and the efforts made by the Ministry of Social Development regarding child protection from abuse and neglect.
