Citizen explains the stages of making ‘apple cider vinegar’ in Oman

Muscat: Apple cider vinegar has been a Medicinal product for thousands of years for the purpose of disinfection, food preservation and dental treatment and its advantages. Muhammad bin Sulaiman Al-Hadidi is one of the producers of apple cider vinegar in Nizwa, as he has been practicing the profession for four years.

Regarding the stages in which the vinegar industry passes, Al-Hadidi explained in an interview to the Oman News Agency that “apple cider vinegar passes through 6 stages until it becomes vinegar and within a specific period of time, starting from collecting and selecting apples through storage, fermentation and squeezing to the stage of marketing, sale and use.

He added that the standard period is forty days and there is no harm in it extending to forty-five to ensure that it is free of alcohol, not to mention that manufacturing has a certain time of the year and it is in the season of availability of apples, after the end of the season it will be economically expensive.

He pointed out that these stages must meet all safety requirements such as cleanliness and sterilization of used utensils, and the absence of contaminants in storage places and lighting.

Muhammad bin Sulaiman Al-Hadidi explained that there are different types of natural vinegar, such as grape vinegar, apple cider vinegar, date vinegar, coconut vinegar, and others, and its quality depends on the period of its aging, method of manufacture and preservation, and its colors differ according to the type, so grape vinegar is red, dates are brown, and so is the case with vinegar. Apples, at the beginning of the age, are among the yellowish green until it begins to turn into a transparent brown, and as the fermentation period increases, the color increases to a darker color.

Al-Hadidi concluded that the promotion of the product is through social media, knowledge and reputation, looking forward to developing his project to produce competitive commercial quantities and establishing a private factory in the future based on modern and advanced machinery.

It is worth noting that apple cider vinegar has many health benefits that help overcome some internal problems and external diseases and reduce weight.
