Muscat: The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) today launched the logo of the National Aviation Strategy 2040, as part of its celebration of International Civil Aviation Day held in the Governorate of Muscat.

The event was held under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Al-Fadl bin Mohammed Al-Harthi, Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, and attended by a number of strategic partners from across the civil aviation sector.

The launch represents a major strategic milestone in the development of the aviation sector, covering key pillars that include legislation and governance, airport infrastructure, safety and security, air navigation services, business development and investment, general civil aviation and drones, national talent development, as well as sustainability and innovation.

The ceremony featured the screening of a documentary titled “Beyond the Journey,” which highlighted the integration between the Authority’s various divisions, and showcased the technical, operational and regulatory efforts made by specialized teams to ensure a safe travel experience from takeoff to landing.

His Excellency Eng. Naif bin Ali Al-Abri, Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority, stated that the National Aviation Strategy 2040 serves as a comprehensive roadmap for the future of aviation in the Sultanate of Oman. He affirmed that the strategy reflects the strong governmental commitment to this sector and its vital role in supporting the national economy.

He added that the strategy is fully aligned with Oman Vision 2040 and was developed according to a participatory and integrated approach that brought together state institutions and partners within the civil aviation ecosystem.

His Excellency stressed the aviation sector’s position as one of the fundamental enablers of development in the Sultanate of Oman, pointing to its contributions in strengthening air connectivity, facilitating trade and tourism, attracting investments, and supporting key economic sectors. He also highlighted its role in enhancing readiness to address global changes and technological advancements, while upholding international standards of safety, security and environmental protection.

He noted that recent years have witnessed significant advancements in airport infrastructure, air navigation and meteorology, the upgrading of operational services, enhancements in aviation safety and security, and progress in digital transformation — all of which position Oman as a reliable partner in the global aviation industry.

His Excellency also praised the role of national carriers and airport companies in expanding regional and international route networks, operating new destinations, and providing high-quality travel services, thereby supporting tourism, business activity, and meeting the needs of travelers.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the Civil Aviation Authority reaffirmed its commitment to advancing the aviation sector, strengthening cooperation with local and international partners, attracting investments, and empowering the private sector to play an active role in shaping the future of aviation in the Sultanate of Oman.
