Consumer Protection Authority concludes its awareness campaigns for the year 2023

Muscat: The Consumer Protection Authority celebrated today the conclusion of its awareness campaigns for the year 2023, the most prominent of which were “For a consumer-conscious generation,” “Your awareness protects you,” and “Let it last,” under the patronage of His Excellency Salim bin Ali Al-Hakamani, Chairman of the Consumer Protection Authority.

The Chairman of the Consumer Protection Authority explained that the awareness campaigns implemented by the Authority since the beginning of 2023 aimed to educate consumers about their rights and preserve them by communicating with the Authority, in addition to educating suppliers and merchants about consumers’ rights and the importance of preserving them.

His Excellency stressed that the Authority will continue during the current year to continue what was achieved last year through awareness, education and campaigns aimed at raising the level of awareness among consumers and suppliers, looking forward to the participation of various government agencies, especially contributing to past campaigns.

Saeed bin Hamad Al Nabhani, Assistant Director of the Communications and Media Department at the Consumer Protection Authority, said: Awareness campaigns work to enhance the cognitive awareness of parties to the consumer process, and the topics of the campaigns have been determined based on scientific foundations and the trends of the current stage, which require intensifying awareness messages in a number of axes.

He added that the awareness campaigns went through several stages through the efforts of the Authority’s cadres and the integration of the supporting and participating parties, including the launch of events, seminars, community initiatives and ambassadors in various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman.

Awareness advertisements were also published in various media outlets, across social media sites and through advertising outlets on the roads and centres. Businesses, both large and small.

During the ceremony, a number of government agencies and institutions that played a prominent role in supporting the promotional campaigns of the Consumer Protection Authority were honored.
