The Consumer Protection Authority in the South Sharqiyah Governorate was recently able to recover an amount of (6,500) Omani riyals in favor of a consumer, as part of its efforts to find solutions to consumer complaints and restore their rights in accordance with the laws and regulations that regulate the work of the authority.
The details are due to the administration receiving a complaint from a consumer about his building the structure of a residential house, and after 6 years he noticed a descent in the floor of the house, which prompted him to submit his complaint to the administration, which took all legal measures regarding it, as the complaint was examined and the relevant parties were collected. Accordingly, an amicable settlement agreement was reached between them, consisting of an agreement that (6,500) Omani riyals will be returned to the complainant.
The authority, represented by its various directorates and departments, affirms that it is continuing to fulfill its mission to protect the consumer and restore his rights in all available ways, and calls upon suppliers to abide by the laws, regulations and systems in force with regard to consumer protection in order to avoid legal accountability.
