Muscat: The Department of Consumer Protection in Al Dhahirah Governorate managed to seize prohibited types of non-smoked chewing tobacco, which were in the possession of two expatriate workers who were trading and selling them in a residential area in the Wilayat of Ibri.
The activity is in violation of the Consumer Protection Law in accordance with Resolution No. (256/2015) amended by Resolution No. (206/2023) regarding the prohibition of the circulation of chewed (non-smoked) tobacco in any form and under any name.
Accordingly, the necessary legal measures were taken against the violators, and all seized items were confiscated in preparation for their destruction.
