

Beware the crown jellyfish when you visit Dhofar beaches
Muscat: The Ministry of Agricultural Wealth, Fisheries and Water Resources issued an alert on Crown jellyfish widespread in Dhofar, it has advised not to touch it and stay away from it when swimming to avoid skin allergies.
In a statement Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries Wealth & Water Resources said: “Cephea cephead Crown jellyfish is currently widespread in Dhofar Governorate, specifically in the state of Mirbat. Specialists at the Fisheries Research Center in Dhofar Governorate confirm that this species is not harmful to humans, but it is advised not to touch it and stay away from it when swimming to avoid skin allergies.”
