Cyclone Cat-1 Biparjoy 770 km away from Oman, moves to India and Pakistan coasts

The latest weather maps and analysis of the National Multi Hazard Early Warning Center indicates of tropical system as a tropical cyclone CAT 1 in the north of the Arabian Sea and it lay centered on latitude 20.8 N and longitude 67.0 E, the center of the Tropical cyclone is 770 km away from the Sultanate of Oman and it is moves north ward to the India and Pakistan coasts, and there is no direct impact on the Sultanate of Oman weather. It is likely to make landfall on Thursday 15™ June 2023 along the coastal areas of Indian (Gujarat) and Pakistan (Karachi).

IN DIRECT IMPACT OVER THE SULATANATE OF OMANS WEATHER:

Medium and high clouds advection over parts of the Sultanate of Oman’s Governorates with chance of isolated rain during next 3 days. Continues caution, maximum wave height may reach 3 — 6 meters along South Al Sharqiya Al Wusta and Dhofar governorates, with chance of sea water inundation to the low level areas. Also moderate to rough sea condition along the coastal areas of Oman sea with maximum wave height of 2-4 meters. Civil Aviation Authority advices all to follow the issued weather bulletins & reports.
