Cyclone Shaheen: Consumer protection continues to monitor markets during the tropical situation

Muscat: The Consumer Protection Authority, in cooperation with all concerned authorities in its various departments and directorates in all governorates of the Sultanate, continued its efforts to follow up and monitor the markets through working teams to deal with the exceptional tropical situation (Shaheen), through teams that rotate around the clock to determine the situation of markets in the Sultanate and ensure that Availability of goods in the markets, ensuring the stability of their prices and the availability of all goods needed by consumers, and ensuring that there is no price exaggeration for various goods.

In addition to ensuring that all suppliers comply with the rules and regulations, out of the authority’s keenness to provide a safe consumer market for consumers in various circumstances.

The authority confirms that a number of violations were monitored in the markets by some suppliers and were dealt with directly by the authority’s employees.

The authority calls on all suppliers and suppliers not to engage in any kind of exploitation on consumers, and stresses the importance of suppliers and suppliers bearing their responsibility during these times, and at the same time appreciates the cooperation of consumers in reporting any violation or abuse they monitor in the markets in the tropical situation.
