Cyclone Shaheen now closer to Oman, 80 km away from Muscat

Muscat: The Directorate General of Meteorology at the Civil Aviation Authority published the fourth warning of the tropical situation, cyclone Shaheen, and said that the direct effects of the cyclone began on the governorates of Muscat, South Al Batinah and Al Dakhiliyah, with very heavy rain.

The cyclone is centered on a latitude 24.4 north and longitude 59.3 degrees east, and continues its movement towards the coasts of the governorates of South and North Al Batinah, and the center of the tropical cyclone is about 80 km away from the Governorate of Muscat.

The wind speed around the center is 65 to 75 knots (130-139 km/h).

It is likely that Muscat and South Al Batinah will continue to be affected by very heavy rain and strong winds during the day.
