Muscat: The Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) stresses that the tropical situation should not be exploited to raise the prices of goods and services

The Director of the Consumer Protection Department in Dhofar Governorate confirms the stability of prices in the markets of Dhofar Governorate, pointing out the tightening of control over the markets and all commercial stores to monitor any violations or exploitation due to tropical situation to raise the price of goods and services.

The authority stated, the necessary legal measures against violators through field work teams in the Wilayats.

The Authority also notes to all consumers that the communications center in the consumer line on its toll-free numbers (80077997 – 80079009) will work to receive reports and take the necessary measures to ensure that these reports are dealt with and to deter violators.

The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion has confirmed the availability of all consumer goods and foodstuffs in local markets and stores, as well as petroleum products and their derivatives in sufficient quantity for long periods, due to the possibility of the tropical condition in the Arabian Sea affecting the coasts of the Dhofar and Al Wusta Governorates.
