The Royal Air Force of Oman operates a number of flights to return residents to their homes after Tropical Cyclone ‘Tej ends
Salalah: The Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO) today operated a number of flights to return the residents of Al Halaniyat Islands to their homes after an evacuation mission that took place prior to Tej tropical condition in Dhofar Governorate.
The mission formed part of efforts to restore normalcy to the island and reflected the preparedness of RAFO to deal with such adverse weather conditions, said Air Commodore Malik Yahya Al Nu’omani, Commandant of Salalah Air Base.
RAFO had operated six sorties to lift 354 citizens and residents to safety from Al Hallaniyat Islands prior to onset of the tropical condition, said Squadron Leader Sultan Salim Al Wahaibi of the RAFO. – ONA
