Muscat: Oman declares two-day official holiday as Cyclone Tej ahead in Dhofar Governorate and Al Jazar Wilayat in Al Wusta Governorate.
In a statement Oman News Agency said: “Due to the adverse climate conditions and in coordination with the National Committee for Emergency Management, 23-24 October 2023 are declared as an official holiday for employees of units of the State’s Administrative Apparatus and other legal entities and establishments of the private sector in the Governorate of Dhofar and the Wilayat of Al Jazir in Al Wusta Governorate.
Employers may agree on terms to engage employees on the said holiday—if deemed necessary due to the nature of their work—provided they take all safety and necessary precautions and compensate the workers for the holiday.”
