Dakhiliyah Festival 2023 from February 23 to March 4

Nizwa: The Office of the Governor of the Interior announced today the date and details of the Dakhiliyah Festival 2023, which will be held from the archaeological site of Salut in the Wilayat of Bahla, from February 23 to March 4.

This came during a meeting held by His Excellency Sheikh Hilal bin Saeed Al-Hajri, Governor of the Interior, with Their Excellencies the governors of the Interior Governorate, government agencies and those concerned with the festival. His Excellency the Sheikh explained that the festival aims to involve small and medium enterprises and members of the local community and introduce visitors to the cultural and historical heritage and tourist destinations in the governorate, and that it will contribute to increasing tourism attraction and thus increasing economic returns.

Haitham bin Muhammad Al-Ghassani, Director General of Promotion at the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, reviewed the activities that will be included in the festival.

He added that Nizwa Fort will witness cultural and theatrical activities, various competitions and juggling, and the state of Bahla will witness the opening of the Bisya and Slot archaeological visitor center with many accompanying events.

There will also be a vehicle tour through farms, aflaj and houses, accompanied by a tour guide, in the old neighborhood in the Wilayat of Al Hamra, and activities and activities related to astronomy in Jabal Shams.

The festival will include paragliding shows in Manah Public Park (Matan), and there will be various activities in the park and others in Bahjat Sumail Park and Izki Public Park.

For cycling enthusiasts, there will be a mountain race in the Al Ain and Al Sawad lanes.

Traditional horse sports (Al Ardah) will be presented, and a peg picking contest will be held in the Wilayat of Adam.

A poetry evening and a camel show will also be held in the Wilayat of Bidbid.
