Oman’s Dhamani Logs 11.2 Million Transactions, RO 59m in Insurance Payments
Muscat: The national health insurance platform “Dhamani” has processed more than 11.2 million electronic transactions and over 3.3 million insurance claims since its launch in January 2025, with total payments exceeding RO 59 million.
“Dhamani” is a national platform that regulates the relationship between stakeholders in the health insurance sector, contributing to improving service quality, reducing price variations, enhancing transparency, and accelerating transaction processing.
The platform also supports the development of unified medical records for insured individuals, which contributes to improving the efficiency of medical and insurance decisions.
The health insurance sector in the Sultanate of Oman has recorded growth indicators, with total premiums reaching about RO 119.7 million, compared to paid claims exceeding RO 95 million.
Data issued by the Financial Services Authority shows that the number of insured individuals reached 650,000, with more than 32,000 health insurance policies issued.
The sector has witnessed growth in recent years, with cumulative premiums increasing by about 80 percent between 2021 and 2025. Health insurance accounts for around 22 percent of the total insurance market.
Insurance coverage currently stands at approximately 13 percent of the population, indicating potential for further expansion of health insurance services in the Sultanate of Oman.
