Salalah: The Directorate General of Endowments and Religious Affairs in the Governorate of Dhofar, represented by the Preaching and Guidance Department, concluded today the summer program, “Watering the Hearts”, organized by the Directorate in a number of Holy Quran schools, mosques and mosques in various wilayats of the governorate.
Ahmed bin Ali Al Busaidi, Director General of the Directorate General of Endowments and Religious Affairs in Dhofar Governorate, explained to Oman News Agency (ONA), that the summer programs focused on teaching students the Holy Qur’an and Islamic jurisprudence, introducing them to the concepts of the Islamic religion, and enhancing their understanding of the Holy Qur’an, the noble Sunnah of the Prophet, Sharia rulings, and Islamic and moral values, in addition to promoting their linguistic and expressive skills, and motivate them to participate in religious and cultural activities and events.
He added that the summer programs sought to provide a safe and encouraging environment for learning and positive interaction among students, enhance their self-discipline, encourage participants to take an interest in Islamic sciences, and deepen their spirit of exploration and learning.
Al-Busaidi indicated that the number of participants in the summer programs for this year amounted to more than 3,000 participants, male and female, distributed in 87 centers, under the supervision of a number of imams and preachers of mosques for the students, and teachers of the Noble Qur’an and religious guides for the students.
The summer program for students, “Sowing the Hearts”, included offering various lessons in Islamic jurisprudence and the biography of the Prophet, raising awareness of the ethics of the seeker of knowledge and honoring parents, and how to perform ablution, the call to prayer and prayer in the correct ways, in addition to giving lectures on the honorable migration of the Prophet, and others on self-development and the secrets of success, in addition to To the approved daily Quranic program.
The program also included training the participating students on home farming and how to use environmental materials and reshaping them artistically, and training the participants on handicrafts in the field of coordinating women’s accessories and designing clothes.
