Dhofar Municipal Council discusses number of investment, development projects

Salalah: The Municipal Council of Dhofar Governorate held a meeting today under the chairmanship of His Highness Sayyid Marwan bin Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar and Chairman of the Council.

The meeting discussed a number of issues related to the development of services and municipal work in the various states of the governorate and approved the minutes of the ninth council meeting and the recommendations it contained.

During the meeting, the Council viewed a visual presentation presented by the Municipality of Dhofar on the Governorate Development Program projects that were approved in accordance with the standards and procedures of the Governorate Development Program, within the framework of the Tenth Five-Year Plan and its executive position, as their number reached (23) projects that included improving and developing road networks and tourist attractions, And implementing a number of infrastructure projects, in addition to developing some project sites that support small and medium enterprises and productive families and improving various municipal services in Dhofar Governorate.

During the meeting, the Dhofar Municipality also reviewed an investment project to establish a city for integrated meat and meat products in the governorate, in addition to an introductory presentation about the digital platform “Jood” to serve volunteer charitable associations and teams in the Sultanate of Oman.

The Council discussed the recommendations of the Legal Affairs Committee regarding the marketing and transportation of weeds, ensuring that it does not affect the abundance of the product in the market, in addition to discussing the results of the Health and Environmental Affairs Committee’s proposal with specialists in the Municipality of Dhofar regarding a proposal to address pasture erosion, increase green cover, and beautify the general landscape.
