Dhofar Municipal Council meeting

Salalah: The Municipal Council in Dhofar Governorate held a meeting chaired by His Highness Sayyid Marwan bin Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar and Chairman of the Council.

The meeting reviewed the results of the meetings of the sub-committees of the Council and their meetings with the competent authorities and the topics referred to it for research and study, including the outcomes of the meeting of the Social Affairs Committee with specialists in the University of Dhofar and the Directorate General of Education on discussing proposals for developing students’ capabilities and skills and promoting societal values ​​and the recommendations of the Health and Environmental Affairs Committee regarding strengthening Intensifying efforts and awareness campaigns to preserve the environment.

The meeting also reviewed the meeting of the Legal Affairs Committee with representatives of the General Directorate of Roads and Land Transport, the General Directorate of Heritage and Tourism, the Directorate General of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, and the Oman Airports Company (Salalah Airport).

The meeting discussed the establishment of a specialized center for urban monitoring to contribute to the collection, analysis and use of urban indicators in preparing development policies in the governorate.
