Dr. Ali Al-Bimani appointed as President of the National University of Science and Technology: Oman

Muscat: The National University of Science and Technology (NUST) announced the appointment of Dr. Ali bin Saud Al-Bimani as President of the University, succeeding British Professor Simon Jones.

Dr. Ali Al-Baymani held the position of the fifth president of Sultan Qaboos University from February 12, 2008 to July 2, 2020.

He also held many positions at the same university, including: a teacher in the chemical and petroleum engineering department in the college of engineering, head of the chemical and petroleum engineering department, vice president for postgraduate studies and scientific research, vice president for academic affairs and community service, and assistant vice vice president for postgraduate studies and scientific research At the Oil and Gas Research Center, and a member of the Board of Trustees of the “College of Forensic Sciences”.

Al-Bimani also worked as a Petroleum Engineer at the Petroleum Development Oman “PDO” from 1980 until 1985.

It is noteworthy that Dr. Ali Al-Bimani obtained a PhD in Petroleum Engineering in 1992 from “University of Southern California”, and a Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering in 1980 from “University of Texas at Austin” in the United States of America.
