Earthquake of magnitude 7 strikes near Tonga, 14298 km away from SE, Muscat

An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.0 has been reported in Tonga, said the Earthquake Monitoring Center (EMC) on Thursday night, June 15, 2023.

The EMC at Sultan Qaboos University announced that it has recorded an earthquake in Tonga with a magnitude of 7.0 (mb) on the Richter scale at 10.06 pm, at a depth of 167 km. The earthquake was recorded 14298 km away from SE, Muscat.
