Student Innovation Highlighted as “Future Pioneers” Challenge Concludes

Education Ministry, Riyada Conclude “Future Pioneers School Challenge” in Muscat

Muscat:  The Ministry of Education, in cooperation with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (Riyada), today concluded the “Future Pioneers School Challenge” for schools in Muscat Governorate. The initiative targeted students from grades 7 to 9 and forms part of ongoing efforts to instill a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation at early educational stages.

The challenge aims to develop students’ creativity and innovation skills and qualify them to establish entrepreneurial projects aligned with labour market needs. It also introduced participants to key concepts such as marketing fundamentals, value creation, smart financial management, simplified business model development, and preliminary feasibility studies.

The programme further focused on enhancing students’ presentation, persuasion, and communication skills through specialized workshops and hands-on practical activities.

A total of 105 students and supervisors from 15 schools in Muscat Governorate took part in the challenge, resulting in the submission of 20 entrepreneurial projects spanning several sectors. These included the circular economy, health, technology, education, agriculture, blue economy, tourism, and handicrafts.

The closing ceremony witnessed the recognition and crowning of a number of outstanding student projects, reflecting the creativity and innovative thinking demonstrated by participants.
