Eighth Issue of Omani Music Magazine Released

Muscat: The Oman Center for Traditional Music of the Sultan Qaboos Higher Center for Culture and Science at the Diwan of the Royal Court has released the eighth issue of the “Omani Music” electronic magazine.

It is a cultural and electronic music magazine specialized in Omani and Arabic music. The editor’s speech came in which he dealt with the issuance of the first edition of the book “The Art of Al-Razha and Al-Azi in the Sultanate of Oman”, which studies the art of Al-Razha and Al-Azi in the Sultanate of Oman.

The editor explained the role of this book in filling the need for the artistic library of these two styles. who did not receive sufficient study, analysis and documentation despite their artistic richness and their poetic and artistic importance. He added that the issuance of this book is a qualitative addition and a nucleus for every researcher in the field of traditional music.

The issue also included a topic titled Bedouin Cultural Life in the Sultanate of Oman (Musical Culture Associated with Camels as an Example) by Professor Nasser bin Muhammad Al-Naabi, in which he explains some of the features of the musical cultural life of the Bedouin community. Also among the important articles in this issue is the article on the Arabic song and the bilingual classical language and popular dialects by Dr. Sami Nasim from Iraq.

Among the titles that came in this issue is an article by the Iraqi poet and critic, Professor Tahseen Abbas Al-Kaabi, entitled (Simplicity and the pinnacle of creativity in the song “You Have a Day” by the late Omani artist Salem bin Ali Saeed, where the article includes a painted picture of the late artist. The issue contains many articles, various news, and pictures Among the most important publications of the center are the stamps (Al-Kasir and Al-Rahmani) and the introduction of one of the most famous Omani traditional musical instruments, which is the Al-Kasir drum.
