Employee Training Programs for Government Units in Dhofar

Salalah: The fifth phase of the training program “Monitoring Tenders, Contracts and Procurement”, organized by the State Financial and Administrative Control Authority, was launched at the Sultan Qaboos Cultural Complex in Salalah, with the participation of a number of government units in Dhofar Governorate, and it will continue until July 27.

The program, in which a number of trainers accredited by the State Financial and Administrative Control Authority lecture, targets employees involved in related tasks in government units in the various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman, with eight groups in the annual plan of the agency for the year 2023.

The program includes presenting a number of axes, including the legal and legislative framework for government contracts, methods of monitoring government contracts, monitoring electronic service contracts, procurement risks and fraud in procurement and government tenders and their importance, the legal and legislative frameworks regulating tender work, stages of government tenders, the importance of auditing and its methods in government tenders.

Through theoretical lectures and practical applications, the program seeks to identify the provisions and principles of the Tenders Law and its implementing regulations, enrich the participants’ knowledge of everything related to government tender controls, and enable them to understand the aspects of violations in the various stages of tendering, in addition to identifying the best professional practices in procurement and contracts and the provisions of their control.

This program comes within the framework of the existing cooperation between the State’s Financial and Administrative Control Authority and the units of the State’s administrative apparatus, and as a continuation of the knowledge-building activities that it implements to enhance functional and professional awareness, and to activate the institutional partnership towards preserving public money.
