Ministry of Labour: 51,482 Jobs Generated in 2025
Muscat: Total employment generated in the Sultanate of Oman during 2025 reached 51,482 job opportunities, achieving 114 percent of the annual target and exceeding the planned 45,000 employment and training opportunities, according to figures released by the Ministry of Labour.
The Ministry noted that this achievement reflects the high level of integration and coordination between government entities and the private sector in supporting the national employment system and advancing labour market outcomes.
It explained that the qualitative programmes and initiatives implemented during the year included replacement plans, training linked with employment, and initiatives aimed at enhancing the skills and capabilities of job seekers. These efforts were complemented by close cooperation with private sector establishments to create broader and more sustainable employment opportunities.
According to the Ministry, first-time employment and replacement in the government sector reached 11,206 opportunities, surpassing the target of 10,000 opportunities. Meanwhile, the private sector recorded 25,207 opportunities, exceeding its target of 24,000.
In the area of training and training coupled with employment, the public sector recorded 2,588 opportunities, while the private sector accounted for 12,481 opportunities.
The Ministry of Labour affirmed its continued commitment to developing initiatives and projects that enhance the work environment and raise employment rates, in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.
