Environment Authority Participates in Eco Expo Central Asia 2026

Samarkand: The Environment Authority participated in the opening of the “Eco Expo Central Asia 2026” exhibition, hosted by the city of Samarkand in the Republic of Uzbekistan. The exhibition, which runs until 4 June, showcases environmental initiatives and technologies from across the region and beyond.

The Sultanate of Oman’s delegation was headed by Dr. Abdullah Ali Al Amri, Chairman of the Environment Authority.

The exhibition witnessed the participation of ministers, officials, experts and representatives of international and regional organizations concerned with environmental protection, climate action and sustainable development.

The event aims to enhance international cooperation and facilitate the exchange of expertise in the fields of environmental protection, climate change adaptation, natural resource management and green growth financing.

As part of the exhibition programme, Dr. Abdullah Al Amri participated in a high-level session titled “Financing Green Growth”, which discussed mechanisms for promoting environmental investment and developing sustainable financing tools to support projects that contribute to low-carbon development and strengthen resilience to environmental and climate challenges.

The Environment Authority stated that Oman’s participation reflects its commitment to engaging in international environmental forums and expanding cooperation with countries and organizations working in the environmental sector. The participation also supports national efforts to achieve environmental sustainability goals and the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.

The exhibition includes a series of panel discussions and side events focusing on biodiversity conservation, water resource management, environmental education, the green economy and sustainable local solutions, with the participation of regional and international organizations.
