Event on diabetes awareness held in Muscat

Muscat: The Directorate General of Health Services of Muscat Governorate, represented by the Department of Primary Health Care, organized the Department of Health Education and Community Initiatives, with the participation of a number of entities from the government and private sectors have a health awareness event about diabetes.

The event was held in the Qurum Natural Park, in the presence of Dr. Tamra bint Saeed Al Ghafriya, Director General of Health Services for the Governorate of Muscat. The most important of which is diabetes.

The holding of this event coincides with the celebration of World Diabetes Day, which this year carried the slogan “Your information today, your immunity tomorrow”.

The event included the establishment of a health exhibition that included a group of health pillars and focused on important axes in raising awareness about the causes and symptoms of diabetes and how to prevent and treat it. The pillars included children’s diabetes, gestational diabetes, foot health, physical activity and oral and dental health. Measurement of vital indicators such as diabetes, blood pressure.

In addition to providing platforms concerned with introducing diabetes and its health complications to individuals. The celebration focused on a number of topics such as diabetes medications and diabetic foot, and everything related to healthy food for the prevention of diabetes and how to deal with the disease in terms of food was presented so that the patient avoids any complications in the future.

Participants and attendees interacted and expressed their happiness for benefiting from all the various health activities included in the event, which contributed to spreading health awareness to them.
