Exhibition Codenamed “Goodness in Our Farms” Kicks off

Muscat: An exhibition codenamed “Goodness in Our Farms” kicked off here today under the patronage of Dr. Saud Hamoud Al Habsi, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources.

The exhibition was organized by Oman Flour Mills Company (OFM), as part of the company’s efforts to enhance the food security system in the Sultanate of Oman, and to empower the local farmers in the food products market.

The exhibition aims to highlight the importance of the Omani wheat crop, which is considered one of the most strategic crops in the country.

It also aims to shed light on the major role undertaken by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources and Oman Flour Mills Company in supporting Omani farmers and encouraging them to cultivate crops such as wheat.

Dr Saud Hamoud Al Habsi was briefed on the efforts made by Oman Flour Mills Company in encouraging Omani farmers to grow wheat; he was also acquainted with the marketing process of Omani wheat products in local and regional markets.

Oman Flour Mills Company supports local farmers by purchasing varieties of Omani wheat through the – wheat purchase subsidy programme -, which aims at expanding the cultivation of the local wheat crop.

The company also exerts efforts to develop and market Omani wheat products as part of its efforts to empower local farmers in the food products market.  -ONA
