Expats arrested for violating labour law in Ibra: MoL

Muscat: Several expatriates were arrested in Ibra for violating Labour Law, the Ministry of Labour (MoL) announced on Wednesday.

In a statement Labour Ministry said: The Ministry of Labor, represented by the Office of the Joint Inspection Team in the General Directorate of Labor in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate, carried out inspection campaigns in the state of Ibra in partnership with the Ibra Municipality, the Department of Trade and Investment Promotion, and the General Directorate of Agriculture and Fisheries in the governorate, where the joint campaigns focused on barns, slaughterhouses, street vendors, and commercial centers.

A number of workers violating the provisions of the Labor Law were arrested and legal measures are being taken against them.
