First activities of Khareef season 2023 kicks off

Salalah: The first activities of the Khareef Dhofar 2023 season, organized by the Dhofar Municipality, kicked off this evening in the Awqad Public Park in Salalah, in several locations to provide an opportunity for citizens, residents and visitors to experience new experiences full of excitement and suspense, and the activities will continue until August 31. The Dhofar Autumn activities for this year are distributed in various locations, including the Salalah Gardens, Awqad and Al Saada Gardens, as well as the Return of the Past in the Al Hafah area and Attin Square in the Atin Plain.

In this regard, Eng. Ammar bin Obed Ghawas, Director of the Events and Awareness Department at Dhofar Municipality, said that the “Kiddy Time” activities, which were launched today in Awqad Park, include an entertainment city for children that includes various villages for entertainment and sites for games and restaurants.

He added that the Children’s City in “Kiddy Time” includes the Smurfs Village, the Masha and the Bear Village, the Panda Village, the “Alice in Wonderland” Carnival, the candy museum, interactive games,  VR  and the ice skating rink, in addition to air games and various international events.

He indicated that the activities of the return of the past site in the Hafah region will be launched on July 25 and include a number of events, activities and arts to simulate the environments of the Dhofar Governorate, in addition to setting up a field for arts and events, restaurants for traditional food, various heritage markets and products for craftsmen and craftswomen.

He pointed out that the activities of the “Aten Square”, which will open on July 20, include a shopping site, an arena dedicated to electric games, lighting and laser shows in the “Arc Theatre”, in addition to drone shows, and the “Teslenco” family circus, in addition to a number of various restaurants and cafes.

He added, “The ‘Lights Park’ event in Salalah Park, which will open on July 20, includes a theatre, the illuminated garden, the bird corner, and the ‘The Park’ site, which will include an open cinema corner, another corner for cafes and restaurants, and various games.

He pointed to the participation of many international restaurants and cafes and a group of international chefs in the activities of “Salalah Eight – People’s Kitchen”, which will be held in Al Saada Park in early August, in addition to organizing the “Salalah Chef” cooking competition.

Regarding the events accompanying the Dhofar Autumn Season 2023 AD, the Director of the Events and Awareness Department in Dhofar Municipality touched on a number of sporting events and activities, such as the Dhofar International Drag Racing Competition, a football sports event, and a karting event.

Ammar bin Obed Ghawas explained that the Dhofar Autumn activities will include the holding of several specialized exhibitions that will be announced in the coming period, including the Salalah International Chocolate Exhibition “Choco Spray”, the Gulf Perfumes Exhibition and another for Gulf fashion, in addition to many seminars, conferences and various forums.

It should be noted that the Al Murooj Theater and the Arch Theater in Salalah’s Patin Square will witness the holding of many artistic concerts by hosting artists, as well as a number of theatrical performances.

On the other hand, the Ministry of Information, represented by the General Directorate of Information in Dhofar Governorate, today started its visual, audio, print and electronic coverage of the programs and activities of the Dhofar Fall 2023.

Sultanate of Oman TV has started launching its TV program for this year, “People and Autumn”, in a new look, through three advanced studios, including two mobile studios, starting their journey from the Darbat area and Awqad Public Park.

The Sultanate of Oman Radio, through its radio program “Atheer Al Khareef”, the Oman News Agency and the Oman Newspaper, also began its various media coverage of the events of this year’s Khareef Dhofar season, in addition to highlighting the various tourist sites in the governorate.

The “Ain” platform keeps pace with the Dhofar Autumn Season 2023 AD by transmitting radio and television broadcasts of all programs and events related to the fall season, while promoting them through electronic accounts on social networking sites, and allocating the Dhofar Autumn category that monitors events and activities in the fall, in addition to producing an exclusive program. Eye on the Autumn” and a presentation of video clips through which the platform takes the viewer to many tourist sites in the Dhofar Governorate.
