First administrators forum in higher education institutions starts at Sohar University

Sohar: The activities of the first administrators’ forum in higher education institutions started today at Sohar University, under the slogan “Management is Creativity and Renewable Thought,” with the participation of 51 administrators from human resources departments in governmental and private higher education institutions in the Sultanate of Oman.

Dr. Hamdan bin Sulaiman Al-Fazari, President of Sohar University, stressed in his opening speech the forum on the speed of knowledge growth and technological progress and its effects on administrative development and the achievement of creativity to reach institutional proficiency in institutions of higher education.

Dr. Jameela bint Ali Al Hinai, Assistant Director General of the Directorate of Planning and Studies at the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, pointed out the importance of developing administrative skills in institutional work in line with the development witnessed by the management sector in various fields, including the academic field.

Maryam bint Saeed Al-Omari, Head of the Personnel Development Department at Sohar University, explained that the forum sought to highlight ideas, theses, and solutions to the challenges faced by employees in administrative positions. Because of their prominent role in drawing institutional policies as partners in the academic field, enabling participants to build a line of communication with their peers in higher education institutions, and sharing challenges and opportunities in light of the rapid changes in this sector.

The forum included four main axes; The first is about institutional proficiency, innovation and creativity in administrative work, and the second axis is about building policies and procedures to enhance successful administrative practices related to quality control, while the third axis is about assessing the efficiency of administrative work and quality control in administrative departments, and the fourth axis is about the effectiveness of electronic systems in institutions of higher education.

The forum also witnessed discussions that highlighted the achievement of many goals, including the promotion and development of ideas; Through communication between participants from various educational institutions, and increasing the exchange of knowledge across higher education institutions in the Sultanate of Oman, in addition to exchanging successful administrative practices between higher education institutions.
