Muscat: The Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs (Mera) has said that the first day of the month of Muharram 1445 AH will be Wednesday.
In a statement Mera Oman said: “The Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs announces that the Crescent of the Month of Muharram 1445 AH was NOT sighted after the sunset this evening, Monday the 29th of Dhu’l-Hijjah 1444 AH (17th July 2023).
Accordingly, tomorrow, Tuesday (18th July 2023) will mark the end of Dhu’l-Hijjah 1444 AH, and Wednesday (19th July 2023) will mark the beginning of Muharram 1445 AH. And on this blessed occasion of the new Hijri year, the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs is pleased to deliver its sincere congratulations and good wishes to His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq,
