First GCC Municipal Week symposium launched in Salalah

Salalah: Deliberations of the 1st GCC Municipal Week Symposium began in Salalah today under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed Mohsen Al Ghassani, Chairman of Dhofar Municipality.

The three-day event is organized by the Ministry of Interior, in cooperation with the GCC Secretariat General.

During the opening ceremony, two presentations were given on the economic and tourism potentials in the Dhofar Governorate, and the competition for development projects at the governorates’ level in the Sultanate of Oman.

The symposium includes four main themes: food handling by mobile food carts, the role of investment in enhancing the economic aspects of municipal work, the theme of smart cities and emerging technologies in the development of municipal work, in addition to the development and beautification of cities.
