First Oman-USA Economic Forum Explores Enhancing Trade, Investment Exchange

Washington: The first Oman-USA Economic Forum discussed in Washington D.C. enhancing trade and investment exchange between the two countries.

The forum was organized by the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in the United States of America (USA) in conjunction with the US Chamber of Commerce on the sidelines of the Second Oman-USA Strategic Dialogue.

Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs, delivered a speech in which he underscored the importance of the historical and strategic relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the USA, and the efforts made to promote trade and investment exchange between the two countries to achieve goals of the Oman Vision 2040.

Ana Escrogima, USA Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, appreciated all efforts aimed at strengthening cooperation and economic relations between the two countries.

The forum included two discussion sessions on themes pertaining to “Trade and Investment” and “Renewable Energy” during which specialists from both sides spoke about the opportunities offered by the Sultanate of Oman in these two sectors and how to maximize the benefit from the free trade agreement signed between the two countries.

The forum was attended by US government officials, representatives of US companies, and figures from the private sector.
