First professional associations forum “Partnership and Networking” begins

Muscat: Professional associations in Oman today began tasks of their first forum titled “Partnership and Networking”. The forum was organized by the Ministry of Social Development.

The opening ceremony was held under the auspices of Dr. Mohammed Said Al Maamari, Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs.

The chief guest and attendees watched a visual presentation on the achievements of professional associations and a display of gains made by diaspora journalism or Arab journalism operating abroad.

Two sessions were held on the first day of the forum during which 8 working papers tackled the themes of “Civil Society Institutions and Volunteer Work” and “National Achievements of Professional Associations – Success Stories.”

The forum underscores the significance of the role of professional associations in enhancing sustainable development, acting in cooperation with establishments like Oman LNG company and be’ah company.

The forum was attended by members of the State Council, members of the Shura Council, representatives of professional associations and more than 250 participants.   -ONA
