Foreign Minister visits Oman’s pavilion at International Horticultural Expo 2023 in Doha

Doha:  Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, today visited the Sultanate of Oman’s pavilion at the International Horticultural Expo 2023 in Doha, which is currently hosted by the State of Qatar, and which contributes to strengthening international trends and policies towards environmental sustainability and food and water security.

His Excellency received and the accompanying delegation during his visit to the Expo, during which he was accompanied by His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Subaie, Minister of Municipality of the State of Qatar.

His Excellency listened to a detailed explanation of the Omani Pavilion and its components, which combine elements of nature, cultural heritage, environmental diversity and innovative technological solutions to contemporary challenges in order to achieve sustainability while preserving the ancient Omani heritage.

His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs stated that this international horticultural exhibition represents a platform for exchanging experiences and innovations in the field of sustainability and biodiversity on the planet and is a unique opportunity to emphasize the importance of food and water security and the role of green agricultural spaces and their growth using the latest technologies and renewable energy in responding to the challenges of the environment and climate change and in reducing… of carbon emissions.

His Excellency praised the initiative of the sister State of Qatar in hosting this Expo and the accompanying events, as part of its support for international efforts towards achieving sustainable development goals, stressing the importance of this event as well in enhancing global awareness and enriching knowledge about environmental issues, the culture of sustainability and the green economy.

On the other hand, His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the accompanying delegation visited the pavilions of the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council and the pavilion of the General Secretariat of the Council, in addition to the pavilion of the State of Palestine, at the Doha Horticultural Expo, where His Excellency praised the innovative exhibits in these pavilions and their diversity.

His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs was accompanied by His Excellency the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Administrative and Financial Affairs, His Excellency the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman accredited to the sisterly State of Qatar, His Excellency the Sheikh, Head of the Department of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf and the Regional Neighborhood, the Commissioner-General of the Omani Pavilion at the Expo, and a number of officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Doha.
