Four jailed for 6 months, fined RO 1,000 for hunting Arabian gazelle in Oman
Salalah: The Court of Appeal in Salalah issued a ruling convicting the defendants of the misdemeanor of hunting and killing an Arabian gazelle in Dhofar Governorate, and ruled that all four defendants be punished with six months imprisonment, a fine of RO 1,000, and confiscation of the seized items.
The second accused was convicted of a misdemeanor of hunting birds of the cat type, and sentenced him to three months in prison, and a misdemeanor of possessing conventional weapons without a license from the competent authorities, and punished with imprisonment for a month, with the penalties being imposed to be more severe.
The Environment Agency calls on everyone to preserve wildlife and not be exposed to it, so as not to be subject to legal accountability.
