Muscat: The Sultan’s Armed Forces Museum celebrates the International Museum Day, which falls on the 18th of May every year.

This day aims to emphasize the importance of museums and their role in cultural exchange among peoples, enriching cultures, and developing mutual understanding, cooperation and peace.

The Museum of the Sultan’s Armed Forces is an ancient cultural edifice, with what it contains among its flanks of the notes of the past, and what it includes of the glories and achievements of the Sultan’s Armed Forces, the military civilizational contributions and the glories and heroics of the Omanis that tell of a long history, and the military level that the Sultan’s Armed Forces reached, to the highest level. In addition to the progress, growth and prosperity witnessed by the Sultanate of Oman in various fields.

On the occasion of International Museum Day, the Sultan’s Armed Forces Museum will allow free entry for visitors to visit the museum’s headquarters and view its historical contents, on Thursday, May 18, from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm.
