GCC e-link System: ROP clarifies regarding over RO 21,000 traffic fine recorded

ROP clarifies regarding the traffic violation, fine recorded in the GCC Country.

Muscat: The Royal Oman Police clarified what was circulated on social media about Gulf traffic violations.

This came during a meeting with Major Mohammed Al Hashmi, Director of Public Relations at the Royal Oman Police, on Al-Wisal Radio.

Al-Hashimi sad, We confirm that what is being circulated regarding some of the violations is true and we call for the importance of reviewing the violations in accordance with the traffic regulations followed in the countries to which they travel.

The unified electronic link system between the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council is concerned with exchanging, storing and paying violations electronically to those who commit violations in those countries.

Some GCC countries have implemented a smart violations system, and thus there is electronic monitoring of various violations.

The smart violations system may be present in the traffic systems in the Sultanate of Oman in the future.

There are ways to verify the validity of Gulf violations : First, go to the country where the violation was issued, file a grievance about the violation with the Traffic Department of that country, verify the validity of the violations, and pay them.

Secondly: Go to the General Traffic Department in the Sultanate of Oman or one of the service buildings and submit a grievance request, and the Traffic Department sends the request to the country issuing the violation.”

This comes after citizens circulated on social media about major traffic violations that were observed in a Gulf country
