    • GCC Economy, Development Officials Committee Explore Economic Integration

    Muscat: The Committee of senior officials of the GCC Economic and Development Affairs Authority held its 8th meeting in Muscat today.

    The meeting was hosted by the Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Economy. It was chaired by Dr. Nasser Rashid Al Ma’awali, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy.

    The meeting, held with the participation of GCC undersecretaries for economy and planning, covered a number of topics related to phases of the GCC economic integration.

    The officials looked into decisions issued by the GCC Supreme Council during its 43rd session held in December 2022. They also studied a proposal made by the GCC secretariat general on the topic of “governance economic and developmental action”.

    The meeting touched on the progress made in the action plan to develop a Gulf Economic Model, its mechanism and its timeframe. -ONA
