Riyadh: The General Secretariat of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf held this evening at its headquarters in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, a celebration of the 42nd anniversary of the founding of the Cooperation Council under the patronage of His Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Governor of Riyadh Region, and in the presence of Their Highnesses and Excellencies Ministers, Ambassadors, representatives of the diplomatic corps and a number of officials.
At the beginning of the celebration, His Excellency Jassim Muhammad Al-Budaiwi, Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, delivered a speech in which he referred to the achievements made by the blessed march of the Cooperation Council since its establishment on the twenty-fifth of May 1981, especially with regard to achieving the aspirations of the citizens of the GCC countries, and reaching To more integration and interdependence among member states in various fields of joint Gulf work.
His Excellency clarified that the General Secretariat, its agencies and employees enjoy great support and care out of faith from their Majesties and Highnesses, the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries (may God protect and preserve them) for their role in promoting the process of joint Gulf action. His Excellency the Secretary-General said that the blessed march of the Cooperation Council – praise be to God – witnessed unprecedented achievements and great competitive indicators, and it established solid fraternal relations among the GCC countries, under the generous directives and wise wisdom of their Majesties and Highnesses, the leaders of the GCC countries through 43 regular summits, and 4 exceptional summits, And 17 consultative summits, and 8 joint summits, the harvest of which was the achievement of many achievements in support of the integration of joint Gulf action in various political, economic, defence, security, social, humanitarian and environmental fields.
His Excellency called for the necessity of preserving this great building, and its gains that were achieved during the blessed march, expressing his confidence in the arms of young men and women, their abilities and energies to achieve one success after another, through hard and tireless work to enhance the role and status of the Cooperation Council regionally and internationally, which is what is being sought in the General Secretariat. From the translation, implementation and follow-up of the programmes, goals and projects entrusted to achieve greater and greater achievements.
His Excellency the Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf concluded his speech by praying to God Almighty to perpetuate the blessings of security, safety, stability and prosperity on the GCC countries, and to direct efforts to achieve the aspirations of the leaders of the GCC states to enhance the process of joint Gulf action and achieve the aspirations of the citizens of the GCC states.
