Oman Among World’s Cleanest-Air Countries in 2025 Numbeo Ranking

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman has achieved a distinguished global environmental milestone by securing second place worldwide in the 2025 Air Quality Index issued by the international platform Numbeo, ranking immediately after Singapore.

This accomplishment underscores the effectiveness of Oman’s environmental policies, the efficiency of regulatory oversight and the steadily growing community awareness regarding the preservation of clean air. It also reflects the national efforts undertaken to enhance air quality, protect environmental resources and promote sustainable development across the Sultanate.

Oman’s strong performance in the 2025 Numbeo Index is attributed to the government’s commitment to enforcing environmental regulations governing industrial and urban activities, the adoption of advanced technologies for environmental monitoring and the continuous development of national air-quality management systems. Community-oriented initiatives and awareness campaigns have further contributed to strengthening societal responsibility toward maintaining clean and healthy air.

The achievement reaffirms the Sultanate’s dedication to implementing comprehensive environmental strategies aligned with Oman Vision 2040 and its goals for sustainable development, public health protection and improved quality of life.
