Muscat: The Governors who are Chairmen of Municipal Council in the governorates, today took the oath of office before Sayyid Hamoud Faisal Al Busaidi, Minister of Interior.
The governors are as follows: Dr. Yahya Badr Al Ma’awali, Governor of South A’Sharqiyah, Sheikh Hilal Said Al Hajri, Governor of A’Dakhiliyah, Sheikh Saif Hamyar Al Malek Al Shihi, Governor of South Al Batinah, Sheikh Me’athad Mohammed Al Yaqoubi, Governor of Al Wusta, Najeeb Ali Al Rowas, Governor of A’Dhahirah, Mohammed Sulaiman Al Kindi, Governor of North Al Batinah, Sheikh Ali Ahmed Al Shamsi, Governor of North A’Sharqiyah and Sayyid Dr. Hamad Ahmed Al Busaidi, Governor of Al Buraimi.
The Minister of Interior wished the governors success. He also underscored the importance of the role of Municipal Councils in the upcoming period through the additional powers granted to the councils to serve citizens and the nation.
