Green Houses project at Al Wafa Center for Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities in Taqah

Taqah: The Al-Wafa Center for the Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities in the Wilayat of Taqa has started the implementation of the Green Houses project, which aims to provide training and employment opportunities for young people with disabilities enrolled in the center.

Salma bint Issa Al-Ma’ashani, head of the Al-Wafa Center for the Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities in the Wilayat of Taqah, said: “The project aims to employ and integrate this group and make its members active and productive in society, as they are trained in agricultural work and provide them with skills that help them in their social and professional lives.” The beneficiaries of the agricultural reserve so far are (21) vocational rehabilitation students.

Through these protected agricultural houses, a safe and exemplary environment is provided to enable those enrolled in the center to practice meaningful movement activity, self-realization, and a sense of independence through agricultural work and benefit from the material returns from the sale of agricultural products.

The head of the center added: We seek through this reserve during the coming period to enable the cases joining the center to practice agricultural activity in the reserve and gain experience in this field, and therefore in the event of a large company investing in the reserve, they will be employed to work in it and obtain financial income from it.
