H H Sayyid Fahd Visits State Audit Institution

Muscat: HH Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, today visited the State Audit Institution (SAI). He was accompanied by Sheikh Al Fadhl bin Mohammed Al Harthy, Secretary General of the Council of Ministers.

The visit underscores the attention that the government accords to institutional action for the realization of efficiency in implementing specializations and raising the standards of performance.

HH Sayyid Fahd was received upon his arrival by Sheikh Ghosn bin Hilal Al Alawi, Chairman of the SAI, among other officials of the institution.

At the outset of the visit, HH Sayyid Fahd underlined the role of SAI in backing Oman’s comprehensive and sustainable development, based on the powers entrusted to the institution and in accordance with the goals set for Oman Vision 2040 and the 10th Five Year Plan.

HH Sayyid Fahd reaffirmed the keenness of the Council of Ministers to cooperate with the SAI in all areas of relevance to its tasks.

For his part, Sheikh Ghosn expressed his thanks and appreciation to HH Sayyid Fahd for accepting the invitation to visit the SAI and meet officials in charge, within the context of a drive to consolidate cooperation and partnership among government institutions.

Sheikh Ghosn valued the sincere support, care and attention accorded to the SAI by His Majesty the Sultan. He affirmed the determination of the SAI to perform its tasks with the highest levels of efficiency. Acting in partnership with the departments under its supervision, the SAI strives to achieve added value and optimal of resources, with the prime aim of maintaining the steady growth of the Omani economy, he affirmed.

Sheikh Ghosn underlined the positive role of the Council of Ministers in promoting the success of SAI tasks that contribute to enhancing the national action. He expressed his appreciation for the attention that the Council of Ministers accords to SAI annual report, which, he said, is submitted to His Majesty the Sultan and later to the State Council and the Shura Council.

HH Sayyid Fahd listened to a briefing about the strategic plan of the SAI and its cooperation with other departments in implementing the scheduled programmes and activities. The briefing also touched on the SAI’s future plans in grooming national human resources and harnessing Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and digital transition initiatives.

Then, HH Sayyid Fahd toured the SAI building and viewed its facilities, capabilities and technologies. He commended the tangible progress made by the SAI over the past period. – ONA
